Account Information

When you create a CommitGood account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Organizations additionally provide business details such as EIN, address, and contact information.

Travel & Trip Data

We collect information about your travel preferences, itineraries, group sessions, and trip applications to power Amara, our AI travel concierge, and to facilitate mission trip management.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. CommitGood does not store your full card details. We receive limited payment metadata (last 4 digits, card type, billing country) necessary for billing management.

Usage Data

We automatically collect device information, IP address, browser type, pages visited, and interactions with our platform to improve performance and user experience.

Service Delivery

We use your information to provide, operate, and improve CommitGood — including Amara AI responses, group planning, mission trip management, and affiliate booking.

Charitable Giving

A portion of affiliate booking commissions are donated to the charity you select. We use your charity preference to track and direct these contributions accurately.

Communications

We send transactional emails (booking confirmations, trip updates, billing receipts) and, where you have opted in, marketing emails about new features and travel inspiration.

AI Personalization

Your travel history and preferences are used to personalize Amara's recommendations. This data is processed to improve response relevance and is never sold to third parties.

Affiliate Partners

When you follow a booking link, we share necessary details with affiliate travel partners via deep links with tracking parameters. These partners have their own privacy policies.

Payment Processors

We share payment-related data with Stripe to process subscription fees and facilitate Stripe Connect payments to organizations.

Organizations

When you apply for a mission trip, your application information (name, contact, screening responses) is shared with the managing organization.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of CommitGood, our users, or the public.

Active Accounts

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

Account Deletion

When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records retained for 7 years).

Access & Portability

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Correction

You can update your name and preferences directly in Settings. For corrections to other data, contact our support team.

Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Account & Security section of Settings. This action is irreversible.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time via the Notification Preferences in Settings or the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

Technical Measures

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Authentication

CommitGood supports Magic Link (passwordless), OAuth (Google, Apple), and password-based authentication. We encourage enabling Two-Factor Authentication for additional security.

Essential Cookies

We use session cookies required for authentication and core platform functionality. These cannot be disabled without affecting service.

Analytics Cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with CommitGood. You can opt out of non-essential cookies via your browser settings.

Age Requirement

CommitGood is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data promptly.

Notification

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on our platform at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
